Grand Hotel provides an unforgettable setting for any group with its distinctive dining and accommodations, as well as Afternoon Tea, golf, biking, swimming and many other activities. In addition, there’s plenty to explore on Mackinac Island.
All group tour rates are non-commissionable and are based on the Modified American Plan (MAP) or Full American Plan (FAP) which include meals and accommodations. MAP daily rates include dinner and a full breakfast. FAP daily rates include dinner, a full breakfast and Grand Luncheon Buffet. All of the above MAP, FAP and Tour Director Rates are non-commissionable and subject to a 19.5% hotel added charge. The rate plus the added charge are subject to 6% Michigan state sales tax and 2% Mackinac Island assessment. Grand Hotel operates on a “no tipping” policy within Grand Hotel.
There is a one-time charge for round trip luggage transfer between the boat docks and Grand Hotel on day of arrival and return on day of departure. Currently $8.50 per person, this is not a daily rate and therefore is in addition to the rates listed above.
Grand Hotel requires the following deposits and rooming list for each group tour room block of up to 30 rooms:
- $200.00 — payable at the time of confirmation. Rooms will not be held until Grand Hotel receives deposit and signed confirmation.
- $1,000.00 — additional deposit is required sixty (60) days prior to your scheduled arrival.
- $2,000.00 — additional deposit and rooming list are required thirty (30) days prior to your group’s date of arrival.
If deposits and rooming lists are not received when required, Grand Hotel reserves the right to release all accommodations and services held. All deposits once received are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Since Grand Hotel is a resort, we want you to feel at ease and dress comfortably. During the day, casual resort clothing is appropriate. Prior to 6:30pm please no midriff baring tops, sweatpants or cut-off shorts for ladies. For gentleman no sleeveless shirts, sweatpants, or cut-off shorts.
Since every evening at Grand Hotel is a special occasion after 6:30pm dresses, skirts, blouses, dress sweaters and dress slacks for ladies are preferred, while gentleman are required to wear a suit coat, necktie and dress pants, no denim or shorts. This applies for all areas inside the hotel with the exception of the Cupola Bar. Children 12 years and older are expected to be in dress similar to the adults.
Transportation to and from Grand Hotel is not included in the room and meal rates above. Grand Hotel’s Director of Group Tours will assist tour planners seeking to book ferry service to and from Mackinac Island, and once on the island, horse-drawn taxi transfers to Grand Hotel as well as the two-hour horse-drawn island carriage tour. Transportation rates for these services cannot be guaranteed by Grand Hotel; ferry service and carriage service is not operated by Grand Hotel.
Grand Luncheon Buffet and Self-Guided Tour
The buffet is served daily from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in our Main Dining Room. Included are a wide variety of salads, fresh fruit and vegetables, seafood, cold cuts, hot and cold entrée selections, as well as a dessert table offering more than 20 freshly baked pastries. Beverages include lemonade, iced tea, coffee and hot tea. Beer, wine, mixed drinks and soft drinks are available for purchase.
Our special adult group rate for the Grand Luncheon Buffet and self-guided tour is $42.00 per person, plus 6% Michigan state sales tax, with advance reservation of 20 or more persons. Grand Hotel provides a complimentary meal for the tour manager with a minimum of 30 paid adults at the $42.00 price, and offers a special Drivers rate of $25.00 plus tax. Student groups, Girl and Boy Scout troops are asked to call our Group Tour Coordinator at 906-847-3331 for rates and reservations. Other luncheon options include Carleton’s Tea Store, The Jockey Club at the Grand Stand, The Gate House and Fort Mackinac Tea Room.
