Throughout the history of Grand Hotel, dining has been one of the highlights of every guest experience. Every meal is truly special, thanks to exceptional food by our chef, service and ambiance of the Main Dining Room overlooking the Straits of Mackinac. Here, dressing up for dinner is a tradition and sitting down with your family for a meal is an event.
After 6:30 p.m. in the main areas of the hotel and the Main Dining Room, gentlemen are required to wear a coat, tie, and slacks and women in a dress, skirt or pantsuit. No denim or shorts please. Click here for more information.
For more casual dining, try The Gate House, The Jockey Club at the Grand Stand, Woods Restaurant, Sushi Grand, and Carleton’s Tea Store located in Grand Hotel serving lunch only. Don’t miss Sadie’s Ice Cream Parlor any time of the day located outside our east entrance.
Most packages feature the Modified American Plan, which includes a full breakfast and five-course dinner daily. The Full American Plan includes a full breakfast, Grand Luncheon Buffet and five-course dinner daily.
Meet Executive Chef Hans Burtscher
Chef Hans has worked at Grand Hotel for over 30 years creating seasonal menus for the legendary Main Dining Room as well as Grand Hotel’s six casual restaurants located around Mackinac Island. He oversees the preparation of 4,000 meals a day and over 100 employees in the kitchen. Originally trained in Austria, he has worked around the world and every year Hans brings his diverse experience to Grand Hotel’s kitchen to delight guests with a variety of choices using fresh ingredients.
