One-Bedroom & Two-Bedroom Suites
Grand Hotel is especially proud of its suites, which give guests a larger space to relax and enjoy their stay. Like all Grand Hotel accommodations, each of the suites has been decorated by interior designer Carleton Varney of Dorothy Draper & Company, who is the interior designer for the entire hotel. Each features its own thematic design, furnishings and ambiance.
Grand Hotel’s newest accommodations are the Musser Suite and the Cupola Suites, all located on the fourth floor. Starting in 2014, the original Cupola Suites on the west end of the hotel on the 4th floor and the Musser Suite began the hotel’s transformation back to the original architecture from 1915 with dormers along the entire roof line. In 2017, three additional Cupola Suites will be available to our guests also on the 4th floor at the east end of the hotel.
All social rates are based on our Full American Plan (FAP) which includes a full breakfast, Grand Luncheon Buffet and five-course dinner daily in our Main Dining Room.
In 2014 we added the Musser Suite in honor of R.D. Musser, Jr., the late former Chairman of Grand Hotel. Mr. Musser worked at Grand Hotel from 1951 until April 2013. The suite features a single bedroom with a king bed, a wet bar and a separate parlor with spectacular views of the Mackinac Bridge and Straits of Mackinac. The Musser Suite is located at the west end of the hotel’s fourth floor. To read more about the addition of the suite, visit the Grand Blog.

Grand Hotel began adding the Cupola Suites in 2015, which began the restoration of dormers from the hotel’s original architecture from the late 1800s. These unique accommodations offer flexibility with One-Bedroom or Two-Bedroom options with Parlors, ideal for families or anyone needing extra space. Three additional bedrooms and two parlors were added to the east end of the hotel in 2016, with the project scheduled to be completed during the 2017/18 offseason.
Grand Hotel’s designer, Carleton Varney, took inspiration for the design of the newest Cupola Suites from the Musser Family home in St. Croix. Crucian-style furniture and heirlooms adorn the new suites and will surprise and delight guests with a style never before seen around the hotel. In addition to the design, guests in the Cupola Suites will also enjoy striking views of the Straits of Mackinac and the Mackinac Bridge from seating areas in the dormers.
